The Foundation attempts to prevent the anomalous entering public knowledge, deviate from these expectations. SCP Side Projects The four side projects listed here are based on various groups of interest involved in SCP writing. Wanderers' Library The Wanderers' Library is the only side project to remain consistently active (as of writing). It follows a mystical library that exists beyond our baseline reality. Many groups exist within the library and the shelves are stacked with thousands of books. This site has a focus on meandering through articles and diving down obscure rabbit holes. Somnium Institution This site was created with the intent of producing articles of significantly higher quality than The project took the form of a private group of writers rather t a public collaborative writing site. The group did not gain enough momentum to last long. RPC Authority In June 2018, SCP applied a pride flag to their logo site-wide, met with legitimate criticism, many SCP users responded with unfair vitriol. This, combined with a growing distaste for SCP brought on by a toxic and unwelcoming inner community, led many SCP fans to migrate to RPC. mimic earlier eras of SCP writing; RPC lacked a unique identity. GEAR Many members of RPC wanted Authority to take on a separate a corporate, profit- r. This, combined and poor site management, led to GEAR being formed as a separate following the dissolution c ARC Before the formation of NDI, GEAR was struggling to maintain any kirn of writing base. When offered a chance to partner with still maintaining itself as an independant project, GEAR h community vote. Partnering but the users who disagreed this outcome created the ARC splinter. With even less of a writing base than GEAR, this site died quickly. SIA Similar to GEAR, this splinter focused on a corporate entity, but with an interplanetary focus. New Dawn Initiative existence, the owner, CFOperator, ran the site in a way that neglected a result, this led to several schisms, most importantly the New Dawn Initiative site. NDI formed after a site admin was removed from staff without warning, sparking major acting as the final straw for many RPC Authority On August 10, CFOperator resigns from staff and leaves RPC entirely. The New Dawn Initiative rejoins RPC on the 12th, reforming the RPC staff system to act as a proper management team. The RPC Authority is now owned by a user named Caro who eventually resigns, leaving RPC ownership in the hands of the admins together. Shark Punching Center Side project to SCP Created June 10 2012 Note: The Shark Punching Center is a semi-comedic play on SCP's acronym. This site has had the least development and is mostly defunct. Wanderers' Library Side project to SCP Created November 11 2013 Note: The Wanderers' Library is an official sister site to the SCP Foundation which harbors the Group of Interest the Serpent's Hand. V SCP Foundation Moved to Wikidot in July 2008 Somnium Institution 2008-2013 Psychotronics Division Side project to SCP Created July 18 2013 Note: This site follows the SCP Group of Interest G.R.U. Division "P", a Soviet agency which fought anomalous threats and captured anomalous items during WWII. On this site, the group aims to revive the USSR, defend it by all means necessary (and to a lesser extent, the rest of the world), destabilize American political power and to gain entrance to the Wanderers' Library. Chaos Insurgency Side project to SCP Created December 30 2013 Note: This site follows the Chaos Insurgency, a decentralized group which believes Chaos is necessary to protect humanity. The Cl has connections across governments with corrupt officials and workers aiding in their operations. - Current triangle logo was created in 2021 APRIL 2018 Chaos Insurgency Failed attempt to "take back SCP" Created June 18 JUNE 2018 BPF Brigade de Protection des Fictions French SCP splinter Created June 26 AEP Association Fallback to RPC Created June 25 became partnered and shared universes >ut did not fully merge until RPC was reformed, at which point it merged as a GOI. JULY 2018 Wayward Society A splinter of SCP meant to take a unique creative direction. The site follows an American organization which hunts abberations and cryptids. Created July 8 Note: This site has its own identity at heart but struggles to maintain itself as SCP and RPC users alike treat it like a middle man rather than an independant project. The site has gone through several stages of inactivity, the most recent induced by a number of SCP authors pulling their articles from the site. Initiative du Confinement Britannique (British Containment Initiative) Unofficial translation site of NDI Created August 6 Note: Weirdly, this site remained active until February of 2019 despite NDI lasting only a week. F.A.S.A. Federal Agency for the Strange and Anomalous Splinter of AEP Created August 6 Note: This site became inactive in only a few months i attempt to revive the site began in March of 2020. AUGUST 2018 New Dawn Initiative RXP. Created August 6 Splinter of RPC formed by ex-RPC members and staff who were banned or left. This site was primarily formed as protest against the poor management of RPC on part of its original owner, but was fully prepared to become an indipendent writing site if the RPC owner was unwilling to cease his dictatorial behavior. RPC Authority With a stabilized, trusted staff team leading the community, the RPC Authority Reformed August 12 " begins to develop a proper identity as a collaborative writing project. Major aspects of this identity to develop are: adherence to a singular, consistent canon of writing; a focus on quality assurance and curation of the site's content; a distaste for politically charged writing and self-insert/author avatars; and a desire to learn from SCP's past in order to avoid the same mistakes and pitfalls. DECEMBER 2018 Observatoire Des deux (Sky Observatory) French writing project Created December 14 Note: Collaborative writing site about a European anomalous agency. The site lacked many articles. RSC Institution Turkish SCP Splinter Created January 8 Note: Turkish writing site created to "recapture SCP Foundation's Charm." The site has been inactive for some time. Odrin RSC Rival Created January 8 Note: Turkish writing site about an anomalous agency. As of writing, the site has remained active since its creation. 2019 Backrooms originally posted to /x/ on May 12 Librorum Infinitum The Infinite Library Side Project to RPC Created June 1 Note: A collaborative writing site about an infinite library, expanding both horizontally and vertically. The site focused on the fantastical beings and strange places one might find within. As of writing, the site has twenty articles of varying length. Backrooms Wiki (Fandom) Created July 30 Note: Fandom site meant to host many ideas relating to the original concept of the Backrooms There are several other, smaller Fandom Wikis for the Backrooms in existence as well. \-------------------------- Backrooms Wiki (Wikidot) Liminal Archives Created December 16 2020 Note: Liminal Archives is a splinter of Backrooms Tech Support, created by users who were unhappy with TS at the time, citing an unrefined writing environment, unstable management and overly restrictive rules. Liminal Archives focuses on staff transparency and community trust in staff. The site is built around creative writing related to liminal spaces in general, and also includes a section for Backrooms content. SCP Commune Unofficial split of SCP Created September 19 2020 Note: This is a writing site used by SCP users who do not want to write in the official SCP's creative and social environment, for whatever reason. Containment Fiction Wiki Collaborative Documentative Project Created May 28 2021 Note: This is a project created to document information about "Containment Fiction" as a genre of writing on the internet. 2020-2022 Timeless Places Created March 8 2022 Backrooms-related writing project created by popular Backrooms YouTuber Mr_Ferrante. Articles on this site relate to liminal spaces and tend to be very short. The project was initially a Backrooms Wiki but decided to detach itself from the Backrooms concept in July 2022.
